Aaron W. Hughes is Philip S. Bernstein Chair of Jewish Studies in the Department of Religion and Classics at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, U.S. Hughes is also visiting faculty in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford. He is the author of many books including Islam and the Tyranny of Authenticity: An Inquiry into Disciplinary Apologetics and Self-Deception (Equinox, 2015) and Jacob Neusner on Religion: The Example of Judaism (Taylor & Francis, 2016).
